Once a week, CSA members come to the farm to pick up their share of farm goods. All that the farm has available in any given week will be available to members. Members may help themselves to as much or as little of every available product.

There will be times when limits are set on scarce items, such as maple syrup or the first peas of the season. Similarily, there will be times when there is an excess of a particular product. In times of excess, members will be encouraged to take extra to can, freeze or otherwise preserve to supplement the lesser range of fresh products available in winter and early spring.

Members are encouraged to take only the amount of fresh product that they will consume in a one week period to minimize waste and ensure they are eating only the freshest product. The majority of products will be available again the following week. If we know it is the last week a particular product will be available, members will be informed and encouraged to stock up if the product allows and members desire.

In regards to storage products such as winter squash and grain, though not necessary, members will be encouraged to take their full year's supply if they have the storage space. This will help ease the farm's storage requirements.

To accomodate the free choice, all-you-can-eat style of CSA, cost of membership is per person and adjusted based on age. Every person in a household must be a member.

Year Round

Year Round

We offer an in-season year-round diet. This means that the majority of fresh fruits and vegetables will be available from April through to October, with a lesser range of fresh foods available November to March.

To offset the lesser range of fresh foods available in the off season we plant a large variety of storage vegetables including cabbage, potatoes, winter squash, winter radishes, carrots, beets, celeriac, onions, and much more. We will also be growing greens through winter in our greenhouses. These vegetables combined with the summer harvests of dry beans, grain, nuts and seeds lead to a full winter fridge and pantry. And though we do not have the capacity to preserve foods ourselves on the farm, we highly encourage our members to do so. There will be excess foods available specifically for preserving, including but not limited to tomatoes, peas, cabbage, pickles, and herbs.

A food dehydrator will be available to CSA members to allow the drying of large quantites of goods, such as tomatoes, apples, grapes, etc.,  for winter eating. We also dream of building an outdoor kitchen in the future to facilitate workshops targeting food preservation, as well as dairy processing, to increase the community's capacity to eat a diverse selection of farm goods year-round, regardless of season.
